Parents and carers can further explore the importance of mathematical skills within the expanded Everyday Maths Hub.

You can participate in a range of mathematical activities with your child. This might include reading books, playing games, shopping and cooking. All designed to develop confidence and nurture skills in maths.

Students can find out more in the Everyday Maths Hub about careers and maths, including what it takes to go viral, game design jobs, maths and trades and jobs for the future. Also, hear from those who use maths everyday in their work and play.

Developed by the NSW Department of Education, with content curated by primary and secondary mathematics teachers, the Everyday Maths Hub is designed to help parents and carers engage positively with their children about mathematics using everyday activities.

Mathematics develops capabilities for life, giving students the opportunity to develop life-long fundamental skills in problem solving, analysis and observation – relevant in everyday life and all careers.

Within the Everyday Maths hub you’ll also find resources on maths and careers, financial literacy, plus translated content in Arabic, Chinese - simplified, Chinese - traditional, Hindi and Vietnamese.
